The importance of donations during a cost-of-living crisis and the festive period.

‘Encourage a mindset where people think about donating before disposing.’

Written by Katharina Will of Instant Neighbour.

Over the coming months we are working to ensure the crucial assistance we provide continues during a period of particular significance.  Donating during financial hardships, a cost-of-living crisis, and especially during the festive period holds particular significance.  In times of economic struggle, the need for your valued support often intensifies.  Your generosity during a cost-of-living crisis provides the crucial assistance needed by those who struggle with daily essentials.

Donating used furniture to Instant Neighbour has a profound impact for us.  It is a lifeline for people and families on low incomes, furnishing their homes with essential items they might not otherwise afford.  Your act of generosity promotes a sense of community and compassion, fostering a stronger, more supportive community.

Moreover, donating furniture reduces waste and benefits the environment by preventing these items from ending up in landfill.  It promotes sustainability and responsible consumption, contributing to a greener planet.

We want to encourage a mindset where people think about donating before disposing.  A simple act of giving that not only transforms lives but contributes to a more sustainable future.

To Donate furniture and White Goods please call 01224 489955 or email reception@instantneighbour.co.uk.

The Giving Tree 2023

Our Giving Tree which launched on the 7th of November 2023 provides an additional avenue to donate to those who need it the most.  We believe that no child should go without a gift at Christmas.   Our Giving Tree is supported by the public and many local businesses who donate new toys which we and our partners distribute to children across the city and Shire who would otherwise not receive a gift at Christmas.
